Dr. Akinwumi Abimbola Amusan
Senior Lecturer
Specialisation ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING
Personal Statement
I am an experienced researcher and academic with passion for innovation and problem solving in both teaching and research. I teach courses in electronic engineering at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In my teaching, I emphasize design project and problem-solving using analytical methods, software tools and experimental implementation. I have taught courses in analog and digital electronic circuits, integrating tools like LTspice to enhance students' understanding and help them solve conceptual problems.
My research interests and specialization lie in electronics and intelligent systems comprising electronic materials, devices, circuits, and systems as well as emerging technologies on embedded systems, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI & ML) and Digital Twins (DT). I have previously worked on atomic layer deposition processes for microdevice fabrication, which formed the core of my doctoral and post – doctoral research and have published research articles in these areas. Currently, I am exploring research on embedded electronics for system automation, as well as integration of IoT, AI & ML and DT. I am passionate about applying these emerging technologies in diverse fields, including smart systems, access control, precision agriculture, automotive, industrial, and biomedical applications. Additionally, I am particularly interested in developing smart systems for sustainable agriculture and food security.
